Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef ecosystem and includes coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, islands, deep-water features and highly connected marine habitats.
Boundary: This page distinguishes the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, Marine Park management context and monitoring evidence. The ATLAS rectangle is navigation geometry, not a statutory boundary. AIMS survey results describe surveyed reefs and regions, not every reef or the whole ecosystem at identical condition.
